Hong Kong Fears THE DARK KNIGHT
Author: Jett Friday, September 21, 2007
6:27 AM TEXAS TIME: Here’s some info from Hong Kong about the upcoming TDK shoot taking place there. Here’s a bit from THE STANDARD:
Kam Nai-wai, of the Central and Western District Council, also warned residents to prepare ear-plugs as the producers intend to use a helicopter in the late hours of the day.
Kam's warning followed a district council meeting yesterday at which the distributors for ‘The Dark Knight,’ a sequel to the hit movie ‘Batman Begins‘, outlined how the caped crusader intends to move from Gotham City to fight his enemies who are gathering in Hong Kong.
The filming locations will include the Central-Mid-Levels escalator, some parts of Queen's Road Central and The Centre. Some areas are expected to be closed to the public during the nine days of filming.
Here’s more from EARTHTIMES.ORG:
Hollywood's Caped Crusader Batman has been told he cannot film his heroics in Hong Kong until he gives assurances that ordinary citizens will not suffer, a news report said Friday. District councillors have demanded more details from the makers of the new Warner Bros Batman movie “The Dark Knight” before they allow nine days of filming in early November, the South China Morning Post said.
The film, which will also feature scenes shot in London and Chicago, will include night views of Causeway Bay, Central and the Peak shot from a helicopter, the newspaper said.
