ICONS UNEARTHED: BATMAN Series Debuts on VICE

I’m going to admit, I did not know about this.

But now I do!

And if you didn’t as well, now you do too!

Batman is now the subject of VICE TV‘s ICONS UNEARTHED hosted by Alexander Knox himself, Robert Wuhl.

Episode 1 was fantastic.  It provides the Batman uninitiated with a little Batman history lesson, the 10-year process of getting a dark and serious live-action Batman movie made (and yes, BOF’s good friend Michael Uslan is in this one a lot), and ends right before filming commenced on BATMAN (1989).  Here’s the official synopsis of episode 1 titled, “One of the Gargoyles Moved”…

An unexpected champion vowed to bring The Dark Knight to the screen, but it would take a visionary young director and a couple off-the-wall producers to get him there.

It’s one of the best documentaries I’ve seen about Batman on film, so I highly recommend watching it…and you can check out the first episode (of 6, I believe) HERE or via the player below. – Bill “Jett” Ramey
