Do you know when the casting news is coming out?
JETT SAYS: For THE BATMAN: PART II I assume? I suspect after the first of the new year — early 2025.
Noticed in THE PENGUIN trailer that he seems to be wearing a leg brace of some sort. Do you think this stems from his car accident during the chase scene in THE BATMAN, or was he born partially disabled (given Falcone’s “gimp” comment to him in the movie)?
JETT SAYS: The latter.
What’s your favorite cowl in live-action?
JETT SAYS: Hmm…that’s a tough one. I’ll go with my top 3: Michael Keaton’s original cowl from BATMAN ’89, the Panther Suit cowl from BATMAN FOREVER, and Robert Pattinson’s cowl from THE BATMAN. Honestly, I’ve liked them all for the most part.
We’ve had 2 Bat-performances win Oscars, do you think Colin could win an Emmy for The Penguin ?
— Chad Vaughn (@ChadVaughn10159) August 22, 2024
JETT SAYS: As an actor, he’s totally capable. I mean, he’s been nominated for an Academy Award.
People still want a BATMAN BEYOND movie. Will we ever get one live-action or animated?
JETT SAYS: Well, there was one in the works with Michael Keaton, but that was killed once DC Studios under James Gunn and Peter Safran was formed. There’s also been talk of an animated version ala the SPIDER-VERSE films being considered, but I believe that’s been tabled. I figure one day it’ll probably happen, but not anytime soon.
I just saw Batman’s new symbol for comics. Yikes! What do you think about it? 😬

JETT SAYS: For ABSOLUTE BATMAN, I assume? It’s OK. Different, obviously, but I’m sure that’s what they were going for.
From what you’ve seen so far what’s your opinion on the upcoming “Absolute Batman”? Although the creative team looks terrific i just can’t shake the idea that going “Ultimate” with the DC lore is a bit meh.
JETT SAYS: I am intrigued and willing to give it go. So, the verdict is still out.
Which cover of ABSOLUTE BATMAN are you getting?
JETT SAYS: Probably the one above…but I do like the Jim Lee variant.
The Penguin being a girl in BATMAN: CAPED CRUSADER is dumb. Harley Quinn being Asian is dumb too. Don’t you agree?
JETT SAYS: No.
How much of the Batman Family do you want to see in THE BRAVE AND THE BOLD movie?
JETT SAYS: I have no interest in THE BRAVE AND THE BOLD movie, thus I don’t care how much or little of the Batman Family is in it.
Which DC Black Label Batman story would you most like to see developed into a live action movie?
JETT SAYS: I’m not a fan of straight-up adaptations and prefer the “inspired by” route. But I’d say there are elements from some of the BLACK LABEL stories that I think would work in a Batman movie. Like BATMAN: THE IMPOSTER — it’s definitely a kindred spirt of THE BATMAN. Also, the premise of BATMAN: WHITE KNIGHT — Batman is “bad” and The Joker is “good” would make for an interesting plot…though I’m hoping that WHITE KNIGHT gets the animated movie treatment.
There have been rumblings of Glen Powell for DCU’s Batman. Would he be a good fit as Bruce/Batman in your opinion? Do you think there is any truth to these rumors?
JETT SAYS: There is nothing to these “rumblings.”
Hi there, do you know what is the reason that we are not getting BATMAN ’66 projects anymore? We got 2 animated movies but not a third one to make a trilogy, is it because Adam West passed away?
JETT SAYS: I’m sure the passing of Adam West is the strongest contributing factor in terms of the animated movies. Also, it’s very possible there were only plans to do 2 of them.
Based on the trailers of THE PENGUIN, they mention the hangman killer. Do you think the show will lean heavily into DARK VICTORY?
JETT SAYS: No. DV is essentially a Robin origin story and focuses on the rise of the “freaks” in Gotham. They aren’t going that route with THE PENGUIN.
What are your thoughts on the new JOKER 2 film details?
JETT SAYS: Which “new” details? Look, I’m excited for it because it’s something original and new…and you can’t say that about most comic book-based movies nowadays.
I guess not a question but a comment on THE BATMAN: I’m of the mind that The Riddler actually knows Batman is Bruce Wayne, but I think he’s playing along. I think he’s too smart not to know.
JETT SAYS: Well then, he’s not as smart as he thinks he is. It’s pretty clear that The Riddler does not know Bruce Wayne is Batman…that was the whole point of the scene when Batman visits The Riddler in Arkham. I’d rewatch that scene again — it’s a master class of acting by Robert Pattinson and Paul Dano.
What were your views on BATMAN: CAPED CRUSADER? Do you feel it tipped its hat too heavily towards B:TAS? Do you feel the gender swap of Cobblepot works moving into the next series? If you could recast the voice of Batman, who would you choose?
JETT SAYS: 1) I loved it — read my review of Season 1 HERE. 2) No. 3) Yes. 4) No one…Hamish Linklater is fantastic. FYI: BOF is discussing each individual episode of BCC on the BATMANIMATION podcast. Given ’em a listen.
With THE BATMAN: PART II is set to start filming in 2025, could Matt Reeves reveal a sneak peek of Robert Pattinson wearing the Batsuit again in the sequel?
JETT SAYS: Like the “camera test” he did for THE BATMAN? Sure, he could…but will he do that is the question. I will say that Matt Reeves did drop a lot of stuff for THE BATMAN on social media, so I suspect he’ll do the same thing for PART II.
Did I miss something or is THE BATMAN getting hate online? Is it a small but vocal community of Snyder fans or Marvel fans or whatever? When the movie came out, I got the impression that people liked it. It’s probably my favorite Batman film, loved it.
JETT SAYS: I have no idea — I don’t pay attention to idiotic bullshit online/social media. I love THE BATMAN and like you, it’s probably my favorite Batman film. The movie did really well and has spawned its own universe in THE BATMAN SAGA. If someone hates it, well, bless their hearts.
