Yes, Matt Reeves is producing and was in on the casting process, even though this film is DCU and not part of Reeves’ separate THE BATMAN EPIC CRIME SAGA universe. Seems that Mr. Reeves is involved with most things “Batman” at Warner Bros./DC Studios — like the animated series BATMAN: CAPED CRUSADER and the upcoming animated DYNAMIC DUO film — which is NOT a bad thing.
Call me intrigued when it comes to this movie. While I prefer the “grounded” Batman characters to the fantastical ones, it seems they are incorporating a bit of the original 1940 Basil Karlo version of the Batman character in this adaptation. Perhaps it’ll be similar to how Clayface was portrayed in the Matt Reeves-produced BATMAN: CAPED CRUSADER animated series?
CLAYFACE is scheduled for release on September 11, 2026, and will be shooting at Warner Bros. Leavesden studio in the UK. – Bill “Jett” Ramey
