UPDATE: THR has also confirmed that Brad Pitt will not be in THE BATMAN PART II. The original BOF report is below.
Matt Reeves is looking for villains to be in THE BATMAN PART II. Scarlett Johansson may be one of them. BOF has learned that Reeves and company are looking for an actor in his 50s-70s for one of these bad guy roles.
Apparently, there has been some buzz going ’round that Brad Pitt may join the cast of THE BATMAN PART II. So I asked some folks, and it seems there may be some fire to go along with this smoke. Appears that there is a role in the film for a male character in his 50s-70s who is a villain. Wonder which character it is? Doubt it’s Harvey Dent (though Dent may certainly be in the movie) — I figure if Dent/Two Face shows up in the SAGA, he’ll be closer in age to Robert Pattinson’s Bruce Wayne. What about a Doctor…Dr. Hugo Strange or Dr. Arkham, perhaps? The leader of the Court of Owls? An original character?
Regardless of which one it is, it appears that Brad Pitt won’t play it. Seems there was some interest, but things didn’t pan out. No idea why; perhaps schedules didn’t align, or this actor’s asking price is too high. Brad Pitt would’ve been a huge get…I mean, HUGE. But it looks like it’s not meant to be, so someone else will nab the part of a male villain in his 50s-70s.
Stay tuned. – Bill “Jett” Ramey
