BOF and Social Media (FYI: We’re Done with X/Twitter)

Batman-On-Film.com has been around now for nearly three decades.

BOF on social media, well, not that long… but close-ish.

After nearly twenty years of dealing with the highs, lows, and outright nonsense of online social media fandom, I’ve made a call that’s been a long time coming: BOF is officially off Twitter/X.

Permanently.

Yeah, the actual account may still exist, but I made access to it as restrictive as possible. Additionally, I deleted the app off my phone and made a “Never Again” pact with myself.

The reason is simple. X/Twitter is a GD cesspool — a swirling mix of ridiculous arguments, performative outrage, and, most disappointingly, a home to the absolute worst of online fandom culture. It’s not a place for conversation anymore. It’s not a place for community. And it sure as hell isn’t a place for what BOF does.

BOF has always been about perspective, history, fun, and covering Batman in a way that respects both the character and the audience. You know, having fun and joy covering and talking about The Dark Knight.

X/Twitter doesn’t support any of that.

Now, it’s all about being an anonymous tough guy asshole, trying to be a wannabe influencer, or…both.

If that means fewer “hits” or less algorithm‑driven traffic, I truly couldn’t care less. I’m in full I‑don’t‑give‑a‑F mode on that front. BOF has never chased numbers. BOF has chased quality and respect — and the BOF’ers who value that will be here ’til the end. (Shoutout to all y’all longtime BOF’ers!)

So, I’m giving Threads a chance and you can follow me/BOF there @thebatmanonfilm.

For those who prefer Facebook (though Threads is also a Meta social media endeavor), BOF’s longtime page remains active there as well at Facebook.com/Jett.BatmanOnFilm. BOF also has a private and exclusive group on Facebook, and you can apply to join HERE. And I have all of our podcasts and other Batman-related videos on YouTube.

Here are the links to the social media outlets I haven’t fired…yet. Keep in mind that I’m rarely on Tick Tock or Instagram.

Right now, the BOF focus is exactly where it should be: THE BATMAN PART II. We’re in the middle of one of the most exciting eras of Batman on film, and I intend to enjoy the ride without the noise, toxicity, or endless cycle of online fandom bullshit dragging it down.

Of course, it’s really all about BOF proper…you know, the actual website that IS BOF.  If you want thoughtful coverage, grounded commentary, and a place that treats Batman like more than a F’n content treadmill, ‘ol BOF is still here — just no longer in the cesspool. Bill “Jett” Ramey
