No way!
Despite the fact that the question about Robert Pattinson’s (and Matt Reeves’) Batman could or would join James Gunn’s DCU has been asked and answered MANY times, anyone involved will continue to ask that question…again and again.
The most recent example comes from LADBIBLE.COM and here’s RP’s answer:
I think it would be kind of tough to have this version of Bruce outside of [Reeves’] world. It’s one of the only characters I guess because of the length of the shoots but also it’s such a specific kind of [style], the tone of it gets inside you. I remember that happened to me the last time I did it, it took a while. You’re just in the dark, the whole time. Both mood-wise and light-wise, I can’t see anything for like months.
Translation: No. Same answer Matt Reeves and James Gunn have given ad nauseum upon being asked.
The Batman created by Reeves and is being portrayed by Pattinson simply wouldn’t fit in the comic booky would of Gunn’s DCU. In turn, Superman and co. wouldn’t fit in the Reevesverse. With that said, I’m sure Gunn would love for it to happen (he’s “contemplated it”), but Reeves wants no part of a creatively limiting shared universe…and I don’t blame him.
One day (maybe), fans will get their DCU Batman in all his blue/gray/yellow glory with a built-in Bat-Family joining him fighting crime in the DCU’s Gotham City…and probably in space too. But it ain’t going to be the one at the center of THE BATMAN EPIC CRIME SAGA.
So that is that…until Pattinson, Reeves, and/or Gunn are asked again. – Bill “Jett” Ramey
