Batman fans, whether you know it or not, it’s a gift that Robert Pattinson is playing Batman.
To have someone as talented as he is as an actor playing this beloved character, all the while loving Batman himself, is a once in a lifetime, perfect storm moment in the history of Batman on film thanks to fate, serendipity or both.
Bottom line, this cat gets Bruce Wayne.
Further proof of this can be found in his interview with GQ in which he talks about a great, but kind of obscure comic that influenced his Batman, the “sadness” behind his Batman voice, and how he made his “I’m vengeance!” line in THE BATMAN better than what was in the script.

I read so many of the graphic novels and found this one called SHAMAN, and that was all about the kind of metaphysical aspects of what the symbolism of the specific bat means and just trying to abstract the idea rather than saying, ‘Yeah, it’s taking away the logic of becoming Batman and saying, no, I’m becoming this other thing.’ It’s not just to scare the criminal, it’s for yourself, and it’s because you feel a profound connection with this creature that you’ve created, which you then think you’re becoming or that it truly is you, even though you’ve constructed it yourself.
The Genisis of His Batman Voice
A lot of wandering around Bayswater in the middle of the night, like muttering to myself. It was very cold in January and I was trying to do something where it’s just like a profound sadness more than anything else. That was the one thing which hadn’t really been touched on that much in the other movies.
He Made the “I’m Vengeance!” Better
I think that wasn’t even in the script. The scene was I come out and they go, ‘Who are you?’ and then say, ‘I’m Vengeance,’ and then beat everybody up. And I’m like, ‘Nah, you shouldn’t even respond. You beat everybody up.’ Once the guy’s basically unconscious, you whisper it in his ear. So, as he’s drifting out of consciousness, it goes into his dreams.
Again, we’re lucky that this dude is the current cinematic Dark Knight. And I hope Batman fans will appreciate this era (Enjoy the ride!) rather fixate, stress, and rage over things when it comes to Batman on film that DO NOT MATTER right now.
