“Smell of Brimstone, Stench of Death!” features two different Batmen (Batmans?) — Batman from Earth 1 and Batman from Earth 2 — fight and ultimately defeat the same villain, Brimstone.
This was the last issue of the original THE BRAVE AND THE BOLD title that started in 1955. It also included a story, “Batman and the Outsiders,” that was a preview of a new Batman monthly comic, BATMAN AND THE OUTSIDERS. “Smell of Brimstone, Stench of Death!” featured both the Golden Age and Bronze Age versions of Batman.
“Smell of Brimstone, Stench of Death!” from THE BRAVE AND THE BOLD #200 was written by Mike W. Barr, penciled by Dave Gibbons, inked by Gary Martin, and edited by Len Wein. The cover was done by Jim Aparo. It went on sale for $1.50 on April 21, 1983, and has a cover date of July 1983.
