Via user “Skull101ify” on Instagram, below are two more images of Batman concept art from the almost — but never — made JUSTICE LEAGUE MORTAL that would’ve starred Armie Hammer as Batman. Check ’em out…
Hammer has previously talked about JLM and the Batsuit…
They built a whole functioning [Bat]suit that had hydraulics and worked and had microphones all through the suit so I could hear everything happening around me. 100% function because we had $300 million to do it, kinda like the budget we had on the movie.
He’s also said that his version of Batman was going to be “truly psychotic“…
I wanted this Batman character to be so dark I was like look, no one — and this was George’s idea as well, this was really in the script — but no one ever really shows how truly psychotic this man has to be. Like this is a guy who chooses to put on a costume, in all black, and sneaks around at night and beat the sh*t out of people. Bruce Wayne was the mask that you never really see. I’m probably not supposed to be talking about this, but they took the job away so whatever! So even in times when he would be sitting around, like let’s say he had his Batsuit off and all that, he would be sitting down with the thing, looking at the thing with the cowl on, because that’s where he felt the most comfortable in his own weird, twisted way. He was a neurotic, like borderline schizophrenic dude who didn’t trust a single person, including anyone in the Justice League, and had all the dirt on every single one of them, and was ready to take all of them down at the snap of a finger.
Here’s another look at this Batman costume that shows what it actually looked like. This photo is apparently from a group costume test featuring stand-ins in the suits…
You can tell that Batman in the image above looks a lot like the concept art. You can check out more JLM concept art HERE and HERE.
And hell, you never know, maybe Arme Hammer will get another chance to be Batman. Post your thoughts about that — and your take on the JLM Batsuit — in the comments section below. – Bill “Jett” Ramey
