Per reports out of SDCC ’24, Matt Reeves confirmed that Collin Farrell’s Oz Cobblepott/The Penguin will return for THE BATMAN: PART II during the presentation for THE PENGUIN.  Reeves also added that production on TB2 will commence next year (2025).  The film, of course, hits theaters on October 2, 2026 (Which will be here and gone before you know it, so enjoy the ride!).

Hopefully, fans will not get upset that there weren’t more details about THE BATMAN: PART II revealed during THE PENGUIN SDCC panel.  If you are a regular reader of this website and listen to BOF’s THE SOCIAL HOUR podcasts (see player below), you know that on a recent episode, I tried to temper expectations.  I figured they’d say THE PENGUIN picks up right after THE BATMAN and then leads into PART II.  I also figured Matt Reeves would say something about filming starting next year.  That’s it.  To get the news that Collin Farrell would be returning (which I long suspected was going to happen) should be considered a bonus.  If you’re upset that more was not revealed, don’t be mad at Reeves, Warner Bros., or anyone else but yourself.  ANYWAY…
