REVIEW

Episode 10 of BATMAN: CAPED CRUSADER, “The Killer Inside Me,” is another Harvey Dent story that completes his arc/finishes his story for season 1.

At the end of the previous episode (“The Killer Inside Me“), Harvey Dent finds himself in jail and also finds himself a lawyer to represent him — his professional nemesis, Barbara Gordon.  Barbara needs to convince Harvey to spill the beans on what he knows about Rupert Thorne and his “business” so that she can defend him in court.  Furthermore, Barbara, Commissioner Gordon, and The Batman must find a way to keep Dent safe and alive so he can testify at his trial. That’s going to be easier said than done because Thorne’s men — along with the help of a couple of bad GCPD cops — are out to silence Harvey for good.

While this is Harvey’s story as I previously said, it also belongs to Barbara Gordon.  Although she doesn’t care much for District Attorney Harvey Dent, she believes in justice and is willing to give her life in its name.  That is, giving Harvey the legal representation he deserves as well as helping to bring down Rupert Thorne.

Does Harvey make it to court to testify? I’ll leave that and everything else for y’all to find out on your own.  But I will say the ultimate fate of Harvey, and Two-Face as well, is appropriate and fitting.  “You either die a hero or live long enough to see yourself become the villain.” Yeah.

As far as The Batman, lots of badass Batmanning happens in this episode.  Hell, it probably features my favorite Batman scene of season 1.  I’ll give you a hint of what it is: Think the Bruce/Alfred hospital scene in THE BATMAN.  If you want to guess, post in the comments below. One last thing…

There’s a tease at the very end for something (someone) who is coming in season 2.  Again, I won’t give it away, but I hope the inclusion of this character is a slow burn that lasts the entire season. Hint: HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

Loved this episode and loved season 1 of BATMAN: CAPED CRUSADER and I can’t wait to see what’s coming in season 2!- Bill “Jett” Ramey
