The man behind THE BATMAN EPIC CRIME SAGA, Matt Reeves, gave an update on THE BATMAN PART II while attending the 2025 Emmy Awards last night (9/16/2025) via VARIETY…
We start shooting [the film] in spring, probably around the end of April or beginning of May. It’s been a long journey, but I am so incredibly excited. I’m really proud of the script me and Mattson [Tomlin] did, and we’ve started to share it with Robert [Pattinson].
As noted, the star of the SAGA, Robert Pattinson, has also read the script…and got to keep it too!
We put [the script] into a secret pouch that literally has a lock on it with a code. [Pattinson] was in New York at the time, and everything is high security. We really trust Rob, because he’s the best.
Reeves also noted (via THR) that the story that he and Mattson Tomlin came up with will be something different for Pattinson’s Bruce Wayne/The Batman…
The things that [the film] does for his character, for Batman, and for Bruce, I think has never been done before in this way.
We know that pre-production has already commenced in the UK, so rest assured a lot of things are going on behind the scenes. With Reeves confirming that filming will begin in the Spring, we should start hearing details about the cast and characters here soon.
