Yes, Colin Farrell is talking a lot lately about THE BATMAN PART II.
This is what happens when you’re doing the press rounds for a (non-Batman) project and you’re part of the cast on the next big live-action Batman theatrical movie.
Talking on the HAPPY, SAD, CONFUSED podcast with Josh Horowitz, CF had a lot (with very little detail) to say about the upcoming sequel, like his take on the script after reading it…
I really do think it’s [the script] a masterwork… a contemporary genre masterwork. I think it’s so brilliant, and Robert’s got a lovely journey to go on and take the audience through. [It’s] dense, really, really intelligent and so detailed.
He adds, “Honestly, I think he’s going to make an extraordinary film.”
When it comes to how long it took Reeves and co-writer Mattson Tomlin to write the script, CF said…
A lot’s been made online about how long it took Matt to formulate, complete, and hand in the script. He has a real appreciation for what this character is and what he means to people. He’s aware of what it takes to bring these characters to the screen, and boy, did he deliver!
Yes…THIS.
Fans nowadays want things yesterday.
There’s a lot more that CF said about THE BATMAN PART II — and other stuff that I found interesting and I’m sure y’all will too — so make sure to give it a watch. Let me say this…
THE BATMAN EPIC CRIME SAGA is very likely will could be the last time we have a true auteur as the mastermind filmmaker behind a Batman film series. Throw in the fact that Reeves is a HUGE Batman fan who cares so much about the character — which frankly, wasn’t the case with either Tim Burton or Christopher Nolan (and that’s OK) — I hope that fans will really, Really, REALLY appreciate what’s going on with Batman on film right with the SAGA.
The Everything-Is-Connected-Batman is coming, but how about enjoying this ride?
Yeah. – Bill “Jett” Ramey
