“Her Dark Reflection” is one of Season 2’s standout episodes, thanks to CAPED CRUSADER‘s sharp reimagining of Thorn — a deep DC pull (she was originally a villain for the Golden Age Flash) who plays like a more grounded, non‑eco‑terrorist riff on Poison Ivy, with a Batman‑like origin story.
Her father, a former GCPD cop murdered by Eddie Nygma, becomes the emotional fuse that ignites Rose Forrest’s transformation into Thorn, making her single‑minded pursuit of The Riddler feel both tragic and terrifyingly justified. The episode builds a tense, noir‑charged momentum as Thorn closes in, and watching her finally turn the tables on Nygma is sort of satisfying after his season‑long smugness. Anchored by a villain in Thorn with real emotional weight, “Her Dark Reflection” is a really good entry that shows how deep this series is willing to dig so that this series isn’t just a redo of what we’ve seen before.
The final scene adds a perfect stinger: The Joker strolls into Nygma’s old club, Stumper’s, just as The Riddler’s men are toasting their fallen boss, casually confronts them, and declares that they now work for him.
