MARCH: “The Terrible Trio” – The Fox, The Shark, and The Vulture – make their debut in DETECTIVE COMICS #253.

MARCH: The Batman Family adds “Mongo, The Bat-Ape” in BATMAN #114.

 

The Bat-Ape (as well as Jungle Batman) appeared in the episode of BATMAN: THE BRAVE AND THE BOLD titled “Shadow of the Bat!”

 

 

APRIL: Batman adds the Bat-Copter to his fleet of Bat-vehicles in DETECTIVE COMICS #254.

 

JULY: Individual helicopters – called “Whirly-Bats” – are used by The Dynamic Duo in DETECTIVE COMICS #257.

SEPTEMBER: The character “Calendar Man” makes his first appearance in DETECTIVE COMICS#259.
