Per THE HOLLYWOOD REPORTER, James Gunn and Peter Safran will head up the newly created DC Studios for Warner Bros. Pictures. Gunn will handle the creative side while Safran takes care of the business part, according to the trade.
I have LOTS of thoughts on this — as well as the future of DC on film and TV moving forward — but I will say that I absolutely LOVE the idea of James Gunn (I’m a HUGE fan of THE SUICIDE SQUAD and PEACEMAKER) being in charge of the creative side of DC on film/TV. Having a creative in charge has got to be a positive in terms of getting other creatives on board.
