PREVIOUS: Batman in 1958.

FEBRUARY: The villain “Mr. Zero” was introduced in BATMAN #121. When the villain appeared a few years later on the live-action BATMAN television series, he was called “Mr. Freeze.” Batman comics soon adopted the TV show’s name for the character and his popularity and rank as a Batman villain began to rise.

MARCH: Robin dreams that Bruce Wayne (Batman) married Kathy Kane (Batwoman) in BATMAN #122.

MAY: Batman’s version of Superman’s Mr. Mxyzptlk – the inter-dimensional imp known as “Bat-Mite” – debuts in DETECTIVE COMICS #267.

OCTOBER: Batman takes on a DC version of Thor (kind of) in BATMAN #127.
