First of all, I’ll say that I’m just a tad surprised that this upcoming Clayface movie from Warner Bros./DC Studios is a DCU project and not part of Matt Reeves’ THE BATMAN EPIC CRIME SAGA.  That likely means that my hypothesis that Reeves will be attached as a producer to anything at WB/DCS that’s “Batman.”  This also means that all the buzz that’s long been going ’round that Clayface was possibly in THE BATMAN: PART II isn’t the case.  No way they’d have 2 versions of Clayface in films released so close together (more on that in a bit).  Furthermore, it appears that the Clayface version featured in the solo standalone film will be the shape-shifting blob of mud and not the original grounded Basil Karlo version.

Oh well.

OK, now the release date: September 11, 2026…which means it will hit theaters about 2 weeks-ish before THE BATMAN: PART II.

Exciting news out of DC Studios today as #Clayface, a DCU story from a script by Mike Flanagan, has been OFFICIALLY greenlit.

Clayface premieres in 2026.

The animated feature DYNAMIC DUO also got a release date and will bow on June 30, 2028.  Oh yeah, Matt Reeves and his 6th & Idaho are producing that one as well..more proof that Reeves has his hands in all things “Batman” over there at Warner.  ANYWAY…

Not sure how interested I am in a live-action Clayface movie where he’s a blob of goo/shape-shifter.  However, with Mike Flanigan involved and writing the script and it being a combo of horror/tragedy/thriller, I’ll likely end up giving it a look…maybe I’m assuming too much. – Bill “Jett” Ramey

He’s the BOF Godfather — the guy who was here before the hashtags, before the clickbait, before the algorithms… and he’s still here, still talking Batman, still calling it straight. When he steps out of Gotham, Jett is pure Texas. He bleeds Dallas Cowboys blue, blasts Elvis and rock ’n’ roll, and has a deep appreciation for cold beer, dive bars, and Texas Longhorns football. He works out, he cooks, and he can grill like a man who’s earned the right to say “don’t assume” when he tells you he lives in the great state of Texas. He shares that home with his wife — “Announcer Rachel” — and their dogs: Gracelin the Labradoodle and Presley, a rescue pup named after the King himself.
