Well, we’re getting closer to being in full-on covering mode of THE BATMAN PART II here at BOF! The cast is reading the script, and I suspect, casting is going on behind the scenes. With filming commencing early next year, we’ll be hearing about all that shortly.
Let’s ride!
And now, on to your questions. – Bill “Jett” Ramey
Do you think Gunn will use CLAYFACE to introduce DCU Batman instead of waiting for THE BRAVE AND THE BOLD?
JETT SAYS: No.
What is your favorite interpretation of Batman aside from the comics? I feel that the ARKHAM games offer the best of everything. Comic influence, 90’s BATMAN: THE ANIMATED SERIES series cast, and fantasy elements, but with a darker twist added to it. Plus, it does a good job of being influenced by most of the films as well.
JETT SAYS: THE DARK KNIGHT TRILOGY…but Matt Reeves’ THE BATMAN EPIC CRIME SAGA may end up giving it a run for its money.
Will The Joker be in THE BATMAN PART II?
JETT SAYS: Apparently, Barry Keoghan is part of the cast. Matt Reeves said in 2022 that his role of “Unseed Arkham Inmate” was not the fully-formed Joker. Perhaps his role in THE BATMAN PART II is similar to that of its predecessor and isn’t, yet, 100% The Clown Prince of Crime in Gotham.
When do you think we’re going to start getting some news on The Batman part 2? It feels like it’s been a while since the script was turned in, and we still haven’t heard anything. I mean official, real news.

JETT SAYS: I’m sure it’ll start to trickle in here soon. Again, patience is your friend.
What do you make of the recent rumors about Robin, Mr. Freeze, and Selina?
JETT SAYS: Glad you asked! Ryan Lower and I talked about all that on the latest episode of THE BOF SOCIAL HOUR podcast. Check it out!
Feels like we are in a DC frenzy at the moment with more in the works then ever before. What doubts do you have and what do you think will be a grand slam in the grand scheme of things?

JETT SAYS: The same for the new DCU that I have from the very beginning. There’s fatigue when it comes to comic book/superhero films (except for Batman and Superman, until proven otherwise). Even though SUPERMAN (which I enjoyed and reviewed positively) did well, it wasn’t a blockbuster. If the goal is to reach the heights that Disney/Marvel Studios did with THE INFINITY SAGA, then it’s going to be a failure. It’s just not a good time to start a shared superhero universe…especially when this is the second attempt at it. I still think they’d be better off just making good DC films and not worrying about them connecting and telling one overarching story.
Do you have a want as far as THE BATMAN PART II villain?
JETT SAYS: As I always say when asked this, whatever villain/character makes sense in the story that Matt Reeves is telling…and not the other way around.
What are the odds of BATMAN: RED RAIN or BATMAN: FULL MOON ever getting a live-action adaptation?
JETT SAYS: Even with Warner Bros./DC Studios having (currently) the ELSEWORLDS banner — which is supposed to be the reason for such a banner — I’ll quote Dean Wormer: “Zero. Point. Zero.”
Now, if they were still making those (mostly) cool animated films, yeah, I could see it happening. But it looks as if they’re no longer going to make ’em, unfortunately.
Do you think there could be more than one new villain in The Batman Part II?
— Bruce Careca (@IGabriel61031) August 29, 2025
JETT SAYS: Certainly.
Will we be getting any news on season 2 of CAPED CRUSADER anytime soon?
JETT SAYS: Not sure. I don’t know how far along they are with Season 2. When we get closer to being finished, then we’ll start getting updates and such.
Will you review PEACEMAKER Season 2 for BOF?
JETT SAYS: No. But I’d review a Krypto series even though it’s not Batman.
Do you think the villain in TB2 will be a character with 50 years+ of history, or less than that?
— Chad Vaughn (@ChadVaughn10159) August 29, 2025
JETT SAYS: It’ll be a villain that fits Reeves’ story, be it a classic villain or a relatively new one.
Just want casting, man. Hopefully, next month or in October.
JETT SAYS: I’m with you…this is the fun time! Stay tuned to BOF!
Is James Gunn’s SUPERMAN the final nail in the coffin of the Snyderverse (in terms of the fanboyz demands, cause most of us know that this project died a long time ago)? And is it considered a steady ground to build a new universe?
JETT SAYS: 1) No. 😆
2) Well, they’re going to build it regardless. The question now is, will subsequent DCU projects (mainly films) be successful enough to keep the thing going? I still say (and I’ll say it again) they’d be better off simply making good DC stuff and not worry about the shared universe thing.
What’s the future of BOF after |THE BATMAN EPIC CRIME SAGA? Will you cover the DCU Batman stuff?
JETT SAYS: As of now, I have very little interest in the DCU Batman and the character in shared universe/DCU projects. Plus, by the time the SAGA is complete, BOF will have existed for over 30 years (founded in 1998, yo!) and I’ll be in my mid-60s (I was 32 when BOF began!). So while BOF will truly never go away totally, it’ll likely be something different than what it has been since 1998.
Or maybe I’ll just shut the MF’er down and totally retire.
