Hey, it’s not much — like at all — but after literally years of development hell and different versions of the movie, THE FLASH has finally commenced filming.

Barbara Muschietti is not only one of the film’s producers, but she’s also the sister of the movie’s director Andy Muschietti.

THE FLASH will be partly based on DC Comics’ FLASHPOINT story where Barry Allen (Ezra Miller) goes back in time to save his mother and ends up F’ing up the past, present, and future.

While BOF generally covers most DC Comics-based movies, this one is a little more Batman on Film-related as both Michael Keaton and Ben Affleck will be reprising their roles of Bruce Wayne/Batman in it.

Allegedly, Keaton’s role as an aged Bruce Wayne Batman is very significant in the film and will lead to MK also reprising his role in other DC films — including a riff off of BATMAN BEYOND and THE DARK KNIGHT RETURNS in which he mentors a young successor to be the protector of Gotham.

Here’s how Mushietti described Affleck’s role in THE FLASH

The interaction and relationship between Barry and Affleck’s Wayne will bring an emotional level that we haven’t seen before. It’s Barry’s movie, it’s Barry’s story, but their characters are more related than we think. They both lost their mothers to murder, and that’s one of the emotional vessels of the movie. That’s where the Affleck Batman kicks in.

There’s also been talk that after the events of THE FLASH, Keaton’s older Bruce Wayne will play the role of “Batman” in the films that are technically connected and “share” a cinematic universe.  But that’s not been confirmed as of yet.

And of course, on an unrelated Bat-note, THE BATMAN is coming!
