Matt Reeves appeared at the Golden Globes last night in support of THE PENGUIN — Colin Farrell won for “Best Actor in a Limited Series” — and gave an update on THE BATMAN: PART II. It’s also clear that there is something else besides Mr. Reeves simply being a meticulous perfectionist that’s causing the delay in finishing the script for THE BATMAN: PART 2. Here’s what he had to say when asked about Colin Farrell…
He’s just such a wonderful person. A lot of stuff going on sort of in my life in the last year or so and he has been such a good friend, such a beautiful man.
Look, the film is going to get made and will be here before we know it. So what if we have to wait another year? Is it a bummer? Yes. Is it the end of the world? No. And if you think it is, well, bless your heart. Let the man, show a little respect…and class.
Reeves also said that he plans to film “this year…2025” and that he’s “very excited about it.” He also said — and I paraphrase — that THE BATMAN: PART II continues the story following the events of THE BATMAN and THE PENGUIN, but does include some new stuff that he hopes surprises people. So while we’ll see some familiar faces return, we have some new ones to look forward to seeing as well. You can check out the full interview below. – Bill “Jett” Ramey
