You would be correct. However, that was for the newly relaunched title, and this is from the last relaunched era, which isn’t finished just yet, and will continue to be delayed a little until it is complete, while the current relaunched title continues.
There, caught up?
“HUSH 2” continues this week after (another) delay. Aside from all of that shenanigans, we’re back to classic Batman. And it is good.
Hush has all of Batman’s closest allies standing face-to-face with him, ready to throw it down if need be. They don’t know there’s more to their current situation than they realize, but of course, Batman knows. You can’t trust what’s on the surface. You can’t trust what you see before you. You can’t trust…well, anything.
And that’s how writer Jeph Loeb keeps this story interesting. He’s done another good job of making Hush a worthy adversary and making the Dark Knight question everything. I dig that. I mean, I still don’t put him on the same tier as Joker, Two-Face, Penguin, and the like, but Loeb can write him in a way that makes him threatening. We’re five chapters into this sequel book, and the story has ramped up interestingly and enjoyably, with Hush (and Loeb) keeping the pieces moving on the chessboard.
As always, the combined works of penciler Jim Lee and colorist Scott Williams can’t go unnoticed. Their panels and pages are striking, bringing clear, exciting action to each image, character, and setting. I really enjoy the look of this book, and it complements Loeb’s fun story.
Overall, another fun chapter of this “HUSH 2” storyline that ramps up the drama and action, while leaving enough mystery about where it’s heading overall. We have two months until we reach the halfway point, and then who knows how long we’ll wait for the concluding six issues to this Hush saga.
