THE BATMAN PART II is currently filming in the UK, and Colin Farrell says he’ll be joining the team in about a month-ish for “a few weeks” of shooting to reprise his now iconic role of Oz “The Penguin” Cobb for a third time.
And he also claims that his role isn’t all that big (per COLLIDER)…
I will go fly to London in four or five weeks. I haven’t got much to do on it, but I’ll go for four or five weeks. I’ll be there for a few weeks. I’m so excited to see it as a fan.
More on “I haven’t got much to do on it” in a bit, but CF again praised the story/script that Matt Reeves and cowriter Mattson Tomlin cooked up. “It’s extraordinary. Matt is just so brilliant, and he just cares so deeply about the stories he tells.”
As I alluded, this isn’t the first time Mr. Farrell has praised the script. Here’s what he said on the HAPPY SAD CONFUSED podcast…
I had many thoughts to share with Matt about the script. I really do think it’s a masterwork. Kind of a contemporary genre masterwork. It’s so brilliant, and Robert has got such a lovely journey to go on and take the audience through.
Now, my take on just much The Penguin will be in THE BATMAN PART II…
While doing press for the first film, Farrell said that he didn’t spend a lot of time on the set on that one as well. Yet, when you watch THE BATMAN, it feels like Oz is in it a lot through the whole damn movie! I expect (hope) the same with PART II.
And by the way, have y’all seen some of the bullshit clickbait various outlets have posted about this story? JFC! How is anything Colin Farrell said disappointing? I am SO glad that BOF is simply a labor of Batman love and I don’t have to worry about creating bullshit for clicks on the daily basis. ANYWAY…
Y’all are enjoying the ride, right? – Bill “Jett” Ramey
