BATMAN: CAPED CRUSADER’s second episode, “Rocket’s Red Glare,” keeps the momentum rolling with a tight, stylish mystery that leans into the show’s noir‑pulp tone, while expanding Gotham’s political underbelly. The plot centers on a sabotage scheme involving a prototype rocket and pulls Batman deeper into a web of corrupt power brokers, wartime paranoia, and a few familiar names/villains reimagined through this series’ retro‑futurist lens. What really works is how the episode balances detective work with character beats: Bruce’s growing suspicion of Gotham’s elite, Gordon’s uneasy position inside a compromised police force, and a villain reveal that feels both classic and freshly twisted. It’s another confident chapter that proves this show knows exactly what it wants to be—sharp, moody, and driven by the idea that Gotham rots from the top down. – Bill “Jett” Ramey
