Jonah Hill

I’m DOWN for both and hope it pans out!

According to VARIETY, Jonah Hill is up for a “secret role” alongside Robert Pattinson (Batman/Bruce Wayne) in director Matt Reeves’ THE BATMAN.

Raise your hand if you think it’s going to be a villain with the initials of “Oswald Cobblepott.”

*raises hand*

Justin Kroll, the author of the report, says that no deal has been made yet and it could still “fall apart,” but “both sides are engaging on Hill joining [THE BATMAN].”

And before anyone says that JH is being eyed for The Penguin simply because he’s “fat,” well, this cat ain’t fat anymore.  He’s one hell of an actor and has taken to transforming his body ala Christian Bale as the role/character in the movie dictates.  (He’s also a HUGE Howard Stern fan like myself — HEY NOW! — and it was his interviews with HS that really turned me onto JH.)

Also, THE HOLLYWOOD REPORTER is, um, reporting that Jeffery Wright is in talks to play Commissioner Gordon in THE BATMAN and that would be more than awesome.

Jeffery Wright as Jim Gordon? Yes, please!

Man, if WB/Reeves can pull this off and get Mr. Wright as JG, it’ll be a coup!

With JOKER hitting theaters in less than 2 weeks, the dominoes are starting to fall in regards to THE BATMAN and casting announcements.

Stay tuned to BOF for the best — and spoiler-free — reporting on THE BATMAN…which will hit theaters on June 25, 2021. – Bill “Jett” Ramey

Bill "Jett" Ramey
Bill “Jett” Ramey isn’t just a Batman fan — he’s one of the founding fathers of the online Batman community. As the creator and Editor-in-Chief of Batman-On-Film.com, the original and longest-running Batman news and commentary site, Jett helped carve the very bedrock of modern fan internet press. A lifelong Dark Knight disciple, Jett has spent decades championing filmmaker‑driven Batman stories, cutting through fanboy noise with a Texas‑sized dose of honesty, and keeping the conversation smart, civil, and drama‑free. He’s the BOF Godfather — the guy who was here before the hashtags, before the clickbait, before the algorithms… and he’s still here, still talking Batman, still calling it straight. When he steps out of Gotham, Jett is pure Texas. He bleeds Dallas Cowboys blue, blasts Elvis and rock ’n’ roll, and has a deep appreciation for cold beer, dive bars, and Texas Longhorns football. He works out, he cooks, and he can grill like a man who’s earned the right to say “don’t assume” when he tells you he lives in the great state of Texas. He shares that home with his wife — “Announcer Rachel” — and their dogs: Gracelin the Labradoodle and Presley, a rescue pup named after the King himself.
