Here at BOF, I’ve shied away from regularly covering and posting about DC on film projects other than Batman.  But with The Man of Steel, I’ll make and exception.

Via DEADLINE, David Corenswet and Rachel Brosnahan have been cast as Clark Kent/Superman and Lois Lane, respectively, in James Gunn’s upcoming SUPERMAN: LEGACY film.

I had heard since early May that Corenswet was the top choice and his job to lose.  I’m not too familiar with his work, but, you know, he looks like Superman.  Boom goes the dynamite…

As far as Rachel Brosnahan, I LOVE her!  Announcer Rachel and I met her while watching THE MARVELOUS MRS. MAISEL — LOVE that series as well. (If you haven’t watched it, you should.  Funny as hell and RB is absolutely great in it!)  And when I heard she was up for Lois, she was my #1 choice.

Look, I’ve made no secret that I think this film has an uphill — make that, up-MOUNTAIN — to climb due to the state that DC on film is other than Batman.  But I am a Superman fan I really, Really, REALLY want this film to be good and do well.

Fingers crossed. – Bill “Jett” Ramey
