While during press for THE PENGUIN, producers Matt Reeves and Dylan Clark were, of course, asked about THE BATMAN: PART II and if there could be another spinoff TV series.  Clark was talking about how the scenes in Arkham in THE PENGUIN involving Sofia Falcone (Christina Millioti) were not once part of the now-dead (unless it isn’t) spinoff set in Arkham or even a series focusing on the Sofia Falcone character.  BUT…

Her [Showrunner Lauren LeFranc] ideas and the story elements that relate to [Sofia Falcone], those are all new ideas for her and have nothing to do with the other series that we’re continuing to do.

The other series?!  If it’s not the Arkham show then what could it be?

THE PENGUIN debuts September 19, 2024, on HBO and MAX!

Well, another journalist asked what about one that centers on Harvey Dent…like a LAW AND ORDER sort of thing?  Reeves said that the journalist was “thinking certainly in the way that our conversations have gone.”

On my THE BOF SOCIAL HOUR podcast, we’ve tossed around some ideas on what another  TV series in THE BATMAN SAGA might be — some ideas were meant to be taken seriously, some were obviously not.  BOF’s Ryan Lower kicked around the idea of a legal drama focusing on Gotham D.A. Harvey Dent on one of the podcast episodes.  Unless Harvey Dent has a BIG role in THE BATMAN: PART II, perhaps a show like this would make sense as a bridge between PART II and PART III.

What do you think?  Could a Harvey Dent LAW AND ORDER-style series work?  Would you be interested?  Talk about it in the comments section below. (via THE DIRECT.) – Bill “Jett” Ramey

Bill “Jett” Ramey isn’t just a Batman fan — he’s one of the founding fathers of the online Batman community. As the creator and Editor-in-Chief of Batman-On-Film.com, the original and longest-running Batman news and commentary site, Jett helped carve the very bedrock of modern fan internet press. If there is a Mount Rushmore of this stuff, his face is already up there — sunglasses on, arms crossed, probably telling someone to calm down. A lifelong Dark Knight disciple, Jett has spent decades championing filmmaker‑driven Batman stories, cutting through fanboy noise with a Texas‑sized dose of honesty, and keeping the conversation smart, civil, and drama‑free. He’s the BOF Godfather — the guy who was here before the hashtags, before the clickbait, before the algorithms… and he’s still here, still talking Batman, still calling it straight. When he steps out of Gotham, Jett is pure Texas. He bleeds Dallas Cowboys blue, blasts Elvis and rock ’n’ roll, and has a deep appreciation for cold beer, dive bars, and Texas Longhorns football. He works out, he cooks, and he can grill like a man who’s earned the right to say “don’t assume” when he tells you he lives in the great state of Texas. He shares that home with his wife — “Announcer Rachel” — and their dogs: Gracelin the Labradoodle and Presley, a rescue pup named after the King himself.
