Sorry I’m a tad late on this here on BOF proper. Wasn’t able to get it up until now, but did post it on BOF social media this morning when I got word from DCS/WBA…

Per a press release from DC Studios/Warner Bros. Animation, a new animated Batman TV series is in the works based on the best-selling ABSOLUTE BATMAN comic book series written by Scott Snyder with art by Nick Dragotta Here’s the official description:
ABSOLUTE BATMAN boldly reinvents the Batman mythos for a new generation of fans, reimagining The Dark Knight as a working-class hero up against impossible odds (and the most terrifying foes ever), on a mission to prove that even in an era of wealth, power and corruption, one good person can change the world.
No manor, no money… all Batman. When you take away the manor, the money, the advantages, what you’re left with is something absolute.
This series is listed as being “in development” and for an “adult” audience. Scott Snyder will serve as executive producer and shower, with Dragotta as producer. Where will it air? The network is listed as TBA.
As far as the comic book series upon which it is based, ABSOLUTE BATMAN has sold more than 6 million copies, with Absolute Batman #1 reaching an 11th printing. You can read BOF’s reviews of this comic book title HERE which are written/reviewed monthly by yours truly.
