BATMAN: GODS AND MONSTERS

4

Bruce Wayne operates as a solitary, full-time Batman, and is estranged from both Selina Kyle (Catwoman) and Dick Grayson (Nightwing).

He grapples with a toxic, bat-like physical mutation of his body. This is the agonizing, lingering effect of a previous blood-soaked battle with Dracula. The mutation is rapidly decaying his cells. Desperate for a cure, Bruce secretly visits geneticist Dr. Kirk Langstrom—the former Man-Bat. Together, they work to synthesize a stabilizing treatment. Their work is cut short when a mysterious body-snatching threat attacks A.R.G.U.S. headquarters. The base is ruthlessly commanded by Amanda Waller. This threat is revealed to be a rogue, time-displaced Saturn Girl (Imra Ardeen and her inclusion serves as a direct cinematic setup for a future Legion of Super-Heroes spinoff film.) Imra seeks vengeance for her futuristic timeline’s destruction at the hands of Waller’s covert agency.

To execute her revenge, Saturn Girl weaponizes a possessed Clark Kent and Peacemaker (Christopher Smith). The chaos intensifies when Imra telepathically possesses Langstrom. She forces a horrific relapse that turns him back into the Man-Bat. This triggers a brutal rooftop brawl against a severely weakened, mutating Batman.

Saturn Girl manipulates Bruce by mind-controlling Selina Kyle to trick him into a vulnerable embrace. This culminates in a massive psychic showdown. Within the astral plane, Bruce helps Imra break free from her trauma and find peace. Just as Imra snaps out of her rage, Peacemaker fires his signature weapon at her. Batman takes the bullet meant for Saturn Girl. To save his life, Imra uses her advanced 31st-century telepathy to place Bruce’s mind into a protective state of stasis. This psychic freeze simultaneously pauses the vampiric spread of Dracula’s curse. While Bruce is incapacitated, Selina discovers his old confessional letter. The letter contains deeply hidden secrets about their complicated, forgotten past.

A recovering Bruce reunites with Dick Grayson. Their iconic acrobatic handshake triggers a shared wave of nostalgia. This moment reinforces their unbreakable bond as partners. Bruce looks at Dick and quietly tells him that he will be “gone for a while.” He tasks Dick with a heavy burden: to take care of Gotham City in his absence. Bruce then hands over a locked, heavy-set titanium case. Dick opens the box to discover the cowl of The Batman, realizing he must now step up as the city’s new Dark Knight.

EPILOGUE: Back in the Batcave, Bruce’s Batcomputer tracking app is glitching to show his signal entirely off-world. On Apokolips,  Darkseid’s silhouette looms over a high-tech prison chamber containing imprisoned Legionnaires from the future.

Bill "Jett" Ramey
Bill “Jett” Ramey isn’t just a Batman fan — he’s one of the founding fathers of the online Batman community. As the creator and Editor-in-Chief of Batman-On-Film.com, the original and longest-running Batman news and commentary site, Jett helped carve the very bedrock of modern fan internet press. A lifelong Dark Knight disciple, Jett has spent decades championing filmmaker‑driven Batman stories, cutting through fanboy noise with a Texas‑sized dose of honesty, and keeping the conversation smart, civil, and drama‑free. He’s the BOF Godfather — the guy who was here before the hashtags, before the clickbait, before the algorithms… and he’s still here, still talking Batman, still calling it straight. When he steps out of Gotham, Jett is pure Texas. He bleeds Dallas Cowboys blue, blasts Elvis and rock ’n’ roll, and has a deep appreciation for cold beer, dive bars, and Texas Longhorns football. He works out, he cooks, and he can grill like a man who’s earned the right to say “don’t assume” when he tells you he lives in the great state of Texas. He shares that home with his wife — “Announcer Rachel” — and their dogs: Gracelin the Labradoodle and Presley, a rescue pup named after the King himself.
