Yes, I wanted and hoped that Matt Reeves would be able to return to THE BATMAN PART II and finish filming. Not because I selfishly just want Matt Reeves back, but because if he returned, that would mean that his family matter had got better.
Sadly, that doesn’t appear to be the case. But still, bigtime positive vibes go out to Matt Reeves and his family. I truly feel for this man.
As you all know by now, Steven Soderbergh will finish principal photography on THE BATMAN PART II for Matt Reeves.

According to DEADLINE, Soderbergh is a fan of Reeves’ work, and he offered to help finish principal photography on THE BATMAN PART II. The two will keep in touch through the end of filming with Reeves returning to work for post-production at some point. And Reeves himself confirms this with a message to fans:
Just to be clear, I am not leaving The Batman Part II. I am profoundly grateful to Steven for coming to my aid during this challenging time to help me finish principal photography. Thank you to all for your concern and well wishes. 🦇

You know, I love Batman and I am a HUGE fan of what Matt Reeves is doing with THE BATMAN EPIC CRIME SAGA. But some things are more important than a movie. If you’re one of those A-holes who melted down and complained about not getting this film yesterday, I’m sure you have no concept of empathy and kindness.
THE BATMAN PART II will get here when it gets here, and Warner Bros./DC Studios and Matt Reeves are making sure of that. I certainly hope that those of you who were on them are finally off Matt Reeves’ nuts. – Bill “Jett” Ramey
