THE BATMAN Moves to March 4, 2022

Well, I suppose I was right, right?

Warner Bros. has indeed moved THE BATMAN to 2022 — just not on June 3, 2022 as I have been suggesting.

Per VARIETY, Matt Reeves’ THE BATMAN — starring Robert Pattinson in the title role — will now be released on March 4, 2022.

Not only is THE BATMAN moving, but Warner Bros. is significantly shuffling the release schedule for their upcoming films, including several DC movies such as THE FLASH, SHAZAM! 2, and BLACK ADAM.  Click on the links provided for the full story on that.

As far as THE BATMAN is concerned, I’m more than fine with the new release date.  For one thing, it gives Matt Reeves and co. more time to complete the film properly.  And secondly — and admittedly, a personal preference — THE BATMAN bowing in March is closer to the traditional Summer release dates for the previous solo Batman films.

Regardless, #TheBatmanIsComing…though we’re going to have to wait almost a year later than originally planned.  Thanks COVID-19. – Bill “Jett” Ramey

A lifelong Dark Knight disciple, Jett has spent decades championing filmmaker‑driven Batman stories, cutting through fanboy noise with a Texas‑sized dose of honesty, and keeping the conversation smart, civil, and drama‑free. He’s the BOF Godfather — the guy who was here before the hashtags, before the clickbait, before the algorithms… and he’s still here, still talking Batman, still calling it straight. When he steps out of Gotham, Jett is pure Texas. He bleeds Dallas Cowboys blue, blasts Elvis and rock ’n’ roll, and has a deep appreciation for cold beer, dive bars, and Texas Longhorns football. He works out, he cooks, and he can grill like a man who’s earned the right to say “don’t assume” when he tells you he lives in the great state of Texas.
