HBO Max | Penguin HBO Max Series Set in THE BATMAN-verse in the Works

2968

Per DEADLINE, a Penguin series set in Matt Reeves’ THE BATMAN-verse is in the works for HBO Max.

According to the trade, this series is in the very early stages of development and is being exec produced by THE BATMAN‘s  Dylan Clark and Matt Reeves. It comes from Reeves’ 6th and Idaho, Dylan Clark Productions, DC Entertainment, and Warner Bros. Television.  It’s also described as a “SCARFACE-like” take on Oswald Cobblepott.

This series on HBO Max joins another in-development series that’s also set in the world of THE BATMAN — a Gotham City PD show (that may also involve Arkham Asylum) which takes place in the first year of Batman’s career.

Clearly, WB has a lot of faith in Matt Reeves and THE BATMAN as an entire universe of shows — on the big screen as well as on HBO Max — is being developed.  And it wouldn’t surprise me in the least if another THE BATMAN-verse HBO Max series or several are in the works (Catwoman with Zoe Kravitz?  Just sayin’.)
