Pattinson Knows Where He Wants to Go in the Future

2051

Another tidbit from EMPIRE‘s big upcoming feature on THE BATMAN, this time more from Robert Pattinson and director Matt Reeves…

On his Bruce Wayne/Batman goes after THE BATMAN

I’ve made a kind of map for where Bruce’s psychology would grow over two more movies.  I would love to do it.

Producer Dylan Clark also spoke to THE BATMAN‘s sequel future…

As the first standalone BATMAN in ten years, the hope is we can lay a foundation that you can build stories upon.

Look, there’s no way in hell that the plan is for this cinematic story of Bruce Wayne to be a story told over the course of 3 or so films, starting with THE BATMAN in March of 2022.  I mean, they are already planning on expanding THE BATMAN-verse with HBO Max spinoffs — a Gotham City Police Department show as well as one on the rise of The Penguin in Gotham.  So, what does director Matt Reeves have to say?

I’ve only ever made each movie as a passion project.  This [THE BATMAN] even more so, because when you know something has been done well before, and is so beloved, you can’t just come in and sleepwalk through it. You have to shoot for something. We’re trying to leave our mark on this.
