REVIEW

“Kiss of the Catwoman” features a Selina Kyle/Catwoman who is a mix of the various incarnations of the classic Batman character that have been seen throughout her almost 85-year history.   Essentially Selina, despite being born into wealth, is a thief at heart.  When her money is lost when her father is sent to prison — and inspired by The Batman — Selinz dons the guise of “Catwoman” to steal her way back into wealth. This endeavor, of course, puts on a collision course with The Caped Crusader for a bit of classic Bat/Cat catch-me-if-you-can.

“They are going to pay…all of them.”

As a secondary storyline, we get a little bit of the Batman origin story in the form of flashbacks that help give insight into why Bruce Wayne is the way he is.  There’s a short scene between young Bruce and Alfred that’s both sad and shocking. See the pic above for a bit of a preview.

We also meet Dr. Harleen Quinzel, Bruce Wayne’s court-mandated psychiatrist.  Of course, Bruce isn’t seeing the doctor voluntarily, it’s part of his plea deal made with the judge and Gotham District Attorney’s office after being charged with felony assault.

All in all, “Kiss of the Catwoman” is an excellent episode that is fun and serious at the same time. – Bill “Jett” Ramey
