As we already know, THE BATMAN has temporarily suspended production for two weeks (as of Sunday, March 15, 2020). As of now, the film’s release date remains Friday, June 25, 2021. BUT…
BOF has heard that Warner Bros. may be considering moving the release date back IF the shutdown of society worldwide continues due to COVID-19 (Coronavirus) and THE BATMAN‘s temporary hiatus becomes months rather than weeks, the release date will have to be changed.
Dates BOF have heard were being discussed could be, possibly, Thanksgiving week/weekend 2021 (Wednesday, November 24, 2021?), or even pushing it back a year to Spring/Summer 2022.
Keep in mind that right now, the release date of THE BATMAN has not been changed and ultimately may stay put at 6/25/21. BOF is not reporting that it has happened or definitely will happen. However, this is a very fluid situation and contingency plans are being discussed.
Would it be a bummer if indeed we have to wait an additional 6 months to a year for THE BATMAN? Absolutely. However, the bottom line here is that THE BATMAN is just a movie and this COVID-10/Coronavirus is a worldwide life/death issue. If the film needs to be pushed back 6 months or even a year to keep people safe and healthy, so be it. – Bill “Jett” Ramey
