On April 26, 2022, a sequel to THE BATMAN was officially announced by Warner Bros. and director Matt Reeves at CinemaCon 2022. While not given an official green light, the project is in the very early stages with Matt Reeves just now beginning to write the story/script.
As of March 24, 2022, a sequel to THE BATMAN has not been “officially” announced by Warner Bros. or writer/producer/director Matt Reeves. However, a follow-up to the hit film is expected to be announced soon.
On March 9, 2022, a spinoff HBO Max series, THE PENGUIN, was given the green light and will begin production soon. The series will be set after the events of THE BATMAN and star Colin Farrell as Oz “The Penguin” Cobblepott, reprising his role from the film.
CONNECTION TO OTHER DC FILMS
THE BATMAN, its sequels, and HBO Max spinoffs are not part of the “DCEU” and exist in their own world, THE BATMAN UNIVERSE.
