Christian Bale Hasn’t Seen Ben Affleck’s Batman Performances (And WHY Is This An Issue?)

Why the heck would he?

In an interview (for his upcoming film HOSTILES) with MTV’s Josh Horowitz on the HAPPY SAD CONFUSED podcast, Christian Bale told the host that he’s yet to see any of the films featuring Ben Affleck as Batman.

“I have not [seen Ben Affleck’s as Batman],” said Bale. “Yes, I’m interested [in seeing it], my son seemed like he was really interested, but then I realized he just wanted to see the trailer and that was it. And, you know, I tend to go see films that [my kids] want to see.”

This doesn’t surprise me in the least quite frankly.  For one thing, why would he?  Michael Keaton has said that he’s never seen anything but snippets of the Batman films that came after his turn in the cape and cowl.  So yeah, I get it and don’t know why anyone would be surprised.

And apparently, he’s not a big fan of superhero movies anyway — maybe that’s the bottom line.  “People seem surprised at that, I don’t know why, but I’ve not seen any of THE AVENGERS films or any of those films at all,” he said. “I hear they’re very good, but I’m quite happy just hearing they’re very good.”
